We would like to pass on some of our success, which is why we have decided to support a very special project in our anniversary year:
The non-profit association "Mbonda Lokito Kongo/Kinshasa Kinderhilfe e.V." from Würzburg, Germany, has the vision to provide children and young people in the suburbs of Kinshasa - the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo - with an opportunity to exist independently and autonomously in society.
The association has built a school in the capital Kinshasa with the help of donated money. This school is currently attended by 320 students from kindergarten to 10th grade and employs 24 teachers and seven members of office staff.
In order to be able to offer the pupils a sustainable perspective, the school is to be expanded into a grammar school in the coming years. Twelve additional classrooms as well as a well to supply the children with clean drinking water are planned for that.

Running costs were previously borne independently by the association through membership fees and self-organised charity events. However, the association could not cope with the huge task of expanding the school itself and was therefore looking for a strong partner. At the beginning of 2017, a contact was established with CSS AG and its CEO Michael Friemel. Impressed by the previous activities of the association, the company decided to support the activities of the association in Congo.
At the beginning of April 2017 the extension of the school 'Groupe Scolaire Maman Vabatu Ngoma' to a grammar school has started. With the previous sum, the foundation could be laid, the walls and ceilings of the first floor could be built, and plaster and paint could be applied.
Three of the twelve planned classrooms, are currently under construction. Further three of them have already been completed and are already being used for school lessons. In a second construction phase, the remaining six classrooms are to be built over the next few years.
